Recently we finished working on a wrestling game project. Our ZBrush and concept art team must have worked on hundreds of wrestlers pass and present. It was a fun but challenging project in the sense that we need to stylize these iconic figures, while maintaining their likeness. During the time when we were working with Electronic Arts, sports games such as NFL Streets and NBA Streets relied on scripts and pre-defined deformers to stylize the heads from the Madden game franchise. I am not sure how close that got them to the finished model, but on the wrestling game we just finished, it takes a bit more art rather then science for us to nail the likeness of the characters.
